Strange Tribe at the Miami Book Fair

I'll be presenting my memoir, Strange Tribe, at the Miami Book Fair on Sunday, November the 15th, at 2:00 in the afternoon. A good part of Strange Tribe takes place in Miami and I'm really looking forward to finally being able to speak about it in my hometown.

Hi, John. I would love to be at this fair.

Have you ever heard about some relationship between Euclides da Cunha e Hemingway?

Abraços do Lúcio Jr.

Ciao Lúcio,
Well I read that Euclides da Cunha was influenced by Naturalism and Dawinism, so perhaps he knew of Jack London who was writing more or less in the same period. If so, then perhaps Ernest had heard of da Cunha.

Oi, John.

Vou pesquisar. Abs do Lúcio Jr.

Well, you might have a point there. Ernest read widely, especially military history, and so it is quite possible that he knew of Euclides. But, I'm not sure about this. Fascinating, though:-)
Um Abraço,
John

Hello,
I was just watching a television program about your grandfather and remembered a little boy named John Hemingway I knew in first grade. I am glad to know you are a writer and that you will return home for the Miami Book Fair. Maybe you can autograph a copy of your book for me.
Angela

Ciao Angela!
Of course I can autograph your copy:-) How strange to hear from someone from first grade, that has never happened to me before.
See you in Miami!

cheers,
John

good question! I had always thought his sexual problems were due to a physical war wound, but given my grandfather's psychological fetishes it's hard to say if Jake's problems were just physical in nature.

abrazos,
John
